Tesla is reportedly delaying production of the original Cybertruck until the end of the first quarter of 2023, according to a Thursday night report from Reuters.
That means deliveries – which can happen in very small quantities at first, given the Cybertruck’s innovative stainless steel body – likely won’t begin until spring 2023.
The report, citing “a person familiar with the matter,” suggests that the delays were at least in part due to the reconfiguration of features and functions for the truck.
That won’t be much later than previous reports suggest the start of electric truck production by the end of 2022 — around the same time that CEO Elon Musk confirmed. Roadster won’t ship until 2023.
