Renault teases new coupe SUV

There is a new wind blowing renault range, and it brings a rain of crossovers.

Renault’s new flagship will be a coupe crossover called RafaleFrench for gust, as well as the name of a 1930s fighter aircraft built by Caudron Renault.

From the cutouts on the bonnet and the shape of the side windows, the Rafale seems to be the vehicle taken by our spy photography agency back in April this year.

The new Rafale runs on the CMF-CD of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance which already serves as the foundation of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. Australia 5-seat crossover and long wheelbase space crossover, available with five or seven seats.

Like its lesser brothers, the Rafale appears to have the company’s signature C-shaped headlights, albeit with different graphics. The Rafale also looks like it will have a completely unique metal plate and more impressive taillights.

According to Renault, the Rafale will use a selective E-Tech hybrid powertrain.

At launch, Espace will be available with 146kW The E-Tech Hybrid setup features a 96kW/205Nm turbocharged 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine paired with a 50kW/205Nm electric drive motor and a 25kW/50Nm secondary motor to kickstart the engine and help shift gears. . The electric motors are connected to a lithium-ion battery pack of up to 2kWh.

There is also something less powerful in Austral 118kW versions of the E-Tech Hybrid powertrain are available.

For those who don’t want to switch to a fully hybrid model, Austral can also be fitted with a number of mild-hybrid petrol engines: the 96 kW 1.2-litre and the 1.3-litre with 103 kW or 116 kW.

Given the Rafale’s flagship nature, these mild-hybrid powertrains likely won’t be available on the new crossover, at least at an early stage.

Based on carThe Rafale will be produced in right-hand drive unlike the more practical Espace, which is currently a left-hand drive-only proposition.

The British magazine also says there will be an Espirit Alpine version with bigger wheels, sportier styling parts and more luxurious interior trim.

Rafale’s relationship, if any, is unclear with vehicles developed by Renault Korea – formerly Renault Samsung – and Geely.

Geely buy 34% stake in Renault Korea in mid-2022 as part of a broad partnership between the two companies in China and South Korea.

In China, Geely will design and manufacture cars for Renault to sell in the world’s largest auto market. While in Korea, Renault Korea will build vehicles based on the Compact Modular Architecture developed by Geely’s subsidiary Volvo.

Rumors suggest these Korean-built models will be based on the Lynk & Co range sold in China and parts of Europe.
