Local Motors properties will be auctioned off March 15-17

After closed in januaryThe darling that was once known as Local Motors is now more than just a collection of 439 lots sold at auction March. Silicon Valley Disposition (SVD) is processing the property sale, and it appears the properties are located at Local Motors’ former Knoxville, Tennessee headquarters instead of its former Chandler, Arizona headquarters. We expect bids to be highest for Lot 6, Black 2012 Rally Fighter and Lot 7, Red, white and blue 2015 Rally Fighter. The first is powered by a 6.2 liters GM LS3 V8 with 430 horsepower, which shifts through a four-speed transmission, has 41,926 miles on it, and is matched with accessories like the winch and light bar. The latter was supposed to be powered by a 430-horsepower, 6.6-liter GM V8, its upgraded transmission featuring a column-mounted paddle shifter, but we thought that was a mistake and that’s it. It’s a 6.2 engine, and it only has 24,800 miles on it. There were about 100 pieces made between 2010 and 2017, with such a small number of second-hand models, it’s hard to know what they’ll be used for. But anyone looking for a potential deal should start here.

The rest is everything you’d expect from a small, post-Rally Fighter, 3D-printed set of vehicles. There are two examples of 3D printed Strati hidden one Renault Twizy Powertrain and One of the Hidden 3D Printed Swim Gear BMW i3 powertrain system. There are 13 Olli self-propelled shuttles, 11 of the first generation and two of the second generation. Only one 2004 Chevy Silverado 3500 chassis cabin with a Duramax V8 6.6 liter engine and a range of 214,000 km, as well as a two-axle Vision cargo trailer with sloping doors.

And oh, there are tools, test equipment and car parts. Need a precision salt spray tester or an Instron fatigue load frame? Here auction. Need a vertical saw, table saw, TIG welder, planer, grinder table or 28 Milwaukee power tools sold in a batch? SVD wants your bid. Need Jeep car suspension bushing, ATE brake booster, or a Moog control arm? Hit that “View” button.

Since Local Motors has spent the past 5 years researching self-driving electric vehicles, anyone interested in lidar sensors, Wallbox chargers, or inverters should explore the avenues. Custom-made Local Motors chargers made to look like vintage air-chargers would make for some fun tug-of-war in one of those cave man garages.

Bidding begins March 15-17, all items “sold as-is, where and with all defects” and without insurance no guarantees either, but some fine print states that “all offers are subject to final approval by the customer.” So deals can be just sweet, instead of SWEET.
