The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been around long enough that many people have finished the story and are looking for other ways to keep the game interesting. Fortunately, with a world as large as this, it’s a pretty easy task.
We’ve seen players build huge and complex vehicles, torture Korok in creative ways, and discover more glitches every day, but what we haven’t seen is all that comes back. in a part of Zelda’s history that most fans want to forget: the 1989 animated series. That is, to this day.
Dan Schettini (@joga_dan) attempted to recreate a scene from the show in Tears of the Kingdom, matching all the details from the background placement to Link’s outfit. Sure, some of the footage in the entertainment makes use of TOTK’s features a bit more than in the original series (we don’t remember Link having Paragliding or Fuse abilities back in the 80s), but the scene Schetini’s shot is pretty outstanding, all the same.

Of course, even though Ganondorf and Zelda are fully voiced now, Link is still the silent type so no “sorry princess” is heard here. Luckily, the dialogue from the original show comes out just in time, so we can imagine that those words are coming out of TOTK Link’s mouth – like upsetting such a thought…
Other in-game entertainments that have wowed us so far include Ocarina of Time’s ‘Song of the Storm’ And Rex metal gear. We wonder how long it will be before someone manages to string together an entire episode of the animated series in TOTK’s Hyrule?
