Random: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge pays special homage to classic fighting moves
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge finally launched on Switch last week and all accounts are a resounding successcombines smooth gameplay with stunning pixelated visuals to deliver a truly modern classic beat-em-up.
Developer Tribute Games has clearly put more emphasis on making sure our favorite heroes in half-shells look and feel authentic, but it looks like it’s gone even further when it comes to paying homage to with the classic fighting games of last year. As marked by Twitter user @ryugainaiThere are many animations in the game that look a lot like the move sets in famous fighting games like Street Fighter Alpha, Samurai Shodownand Fatal Fury.
The pessimists among us might wonder why Tribute Games not only created completely original animations for all the turtle move sets, but in our opinion, we appreciate the humble nods to the fighting games that clearly inspired Shredder’s Revenge. It’s a perfect example of the love and passion for this project and how much the developers at Tribute Games love the fighting genre.
In other words, if you’re enjoying Shredder’s Revenge and are perhaps expecting some additional DLC, you might want to soften your expectations. While publisher Dotemu doesn’t rule it out entirely, there are currently no plans to add additional content to the game.
