HBO adapted from Our last The film has received generally positive reviews since its January release – well deserved – with critics and audiences alike praising the film for its loyalty to the franchise along with the its bold deviations (hello, episode 3!).
Obviously leaving some wondering what else is likely to get a ‘brave’ adaptation. Thanks to Saturday Night Live, we now have a bit of an idea of what Mario Kart might look like if HBO got the IP. Spoiler: it’s pretty awesome.
Starring the one and only Pedro Pascal (Our last, Game of Thrones, Palestinians), a fake trailer showcasing the Mushroom Kingdom has been ravaged by the dreaded Bowser. When tasked with taking Princess Peach to Rainbow Road (for reasons), Mario explains that walking isn’t an option, so he hopped in his kart with Peach in tow. The two even stop at a haunted mansion to recruit Luigi – it’s wild stuff!
We love how ridiculously out-of-the-box the whole thing is, and it certainly serves as a complete alternative to IP Mario when compared to the upcoming release. Movie Super Mario Bros.! Honestly, we can’t choose between the two… Why not choose both? Yes, both are good.
