Maybe the game just looks like this now? EXPERT 2 is an Unreal Engine 5 game, so it has to be pretty. However, I look at the new screenshots its developers have posted to Twitter, and they look at me less like screenshots than the previous overpainted ones. See them below and decide for yourself.

Light mist, dappled light, pops out from distant elements. Post-processing on a fancy GPU or post-processing in Photoshop? I do not know. Anyway, I still have a lot of doubts about a return trip to the Zone. For a game that is slated to release next April, we haven’t seen much of it yet. Here’s the trailer from E3 earlier this year:
Sure, there’s combat there among the scripted scenes, but those are pockets and it still looks staged. Show me the inventory, show me a continuum, show me the AI behavior. Maybe we’re about to achieve all of that at the Game Awards Ceremony tonight. I sure hope I’m wrong, but right now I’d bet any new trailer we’ll have a release date change. Let’s see!
