For Italy, France and the UK, we find that the number of hospitalized patients with Covid remains much lower than in previous batches. In the UK, 291 coronavirus patients per million were hospitalized as of January 10. Just under a year ago, the rate was 576 parts per million. In France, the rate stood at 347 parts per million on the same day, compared with a peak of 490 in November.
