Details of the alleged incident

According to the police department, the incident began after the two men were informed that their yacht charter “has expired”. The men are said to have become “very aggressive” towards the captain and crew.

In addition, they demanded a refund and allegedly initiated “verbal threats” against the group on board.

The yacht’s captain alleges that one of the men told him he was going to “kill” him and even threatened to “throw him off the boat”.

Furthermore, the suspect allegedly took the captain’s wallet and phone out of his pocket. According to Local10, the wallet holds about $3,500.

Quavo’s connection to the alleged robbery remains unclear

The outlet reports that the men have since been identified as Cornell A. Whitfield, 39, and Anteneh A. Workeneh, 32. However, their connection to Quavo and the rapper’s involvement in the alleged crime remains unclear.

Despite this, Miami-Dade authorities eventually arrested “several men,” including Quavo, when they arrived at the boat’s location.

“Suddenly, there was a police boat coming up ahead. Terence Quek, a viewer in Miami, told Local10. “It was like an ambush from both sides and it was—it was a crazy sight, can’t lie.”

Additionally, a source present during the men’s detention told Page Six that the rapper was seen with “his hands tied behind his back”.

In the end, authorities let the rapper “Greatness” go, according to the anonymous source.

“[Police] allow [Quavo] followed and he and his entourage left in these big black SUVs with blackened windows… [and a] a bunch of women.”

Furthermore, the store reported no arrests were made in connection with the robbery due to “conflicting statements”. In addition, all detainees were “released” by the authorities and left the area “without incident”.

In addition, it was revealed that no security cameras were able to record video of the incident. Even so, Local10 reports that the investigation into the robbery will remain “ongoing”.
