The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV has an official EPA rating of 450 miles, GM reports, with a larger battery pack. The size of that battery pack has yet to be made clear, but the automaker says the paperwork is in place. It’s on track to start shipping in the spring of 2023 as scheduled — that sounds like it right now.

Ford also announced its most important consideration for hydrogen fuel cell technology for 15 years or more. With a three-year pilot project in the UK, Ford is considering E-Transit trucks run on fuel cells used as a replacement for the company’s heaviest commercial trucks—which may still require a diesel engine today.
Just this week, Honda also made more hydrogen-related announcements. On the one hand, it has confirmed plans to demonstrate a fuel-cell heavy-duty truck with Isuzu next year, with a market launch in 2027. On the other hand, it is looking at the potential role of the fuel cell. Rocky Mountain Power Regional Utility announced plans on Wednesday for 80 fast charging stations at 20 locations in Utah, with support from Electrify America. It is seeking federal NEVI funding for the stations, which will help fill charging corridors that allow EV drivers to cross the state.
