Toyota dealers in Malaysia have started listing the price list of versions All-new Toyota Alphard and Vellfire, was revealed to the world just last month. UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has not officially confirmed if and when the latest versions of the MPV will be launched here, although it has provided the previous generation of both in the past.

Referring to the price list, the Alphard is shown as the Executive Lounge variant with the 2.4-liter turbocharged engine. This is different from what’s offered in Japan, where the Alphard is available with a choice of a conventionally aspirated or hybrid powertrain – both using a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine.

Meanwhile, the Vellfire is listed with a 2.5-liter engine, although it is not mentioned if it is a pure hybrid or NA engine. In Japan, the Vellfire uses Alphard’s hybrid powertrain, with the alternative being a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder.

Detailing each powertrain, the hybrid option features a Dynamic Force engine, namely the A25A-FXS 2.5 liter NA four-cylinder with 190 PS (188 hp or 140 kW) at 6,000 rpm. and 236 Nm of torque from 4,300 to 4,500 rpm. The engine is boosted by a 5NM electric motor up front with 182 PS (180 hp) and 270 Nm for a total system output of 250 PS (247 hp or 184 kW) – electronic CVT transmission (E-CVT) is used for the hybrid system.

As for the pure NA powertrain, it uses a 2.5-liter 2AR-FE 4-cylinder engine that produces 182 PS (180 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 235 Nm of torque at 4,100 rpm. /min, combined with a Super CVT-i gearbox. Finally, the turbocharged powertrain comes with a T24A-FTS 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 279 PS (275 hp or 205 kW) and 430 Nm. This gets Toyota’s eight-speed Direct Shift-8AT.

Engines aside, the main thing car buyers will care about is how much they will pay for the MPV. All are estimated prices for now, but the Alphard is listed at RM538,000 on the uninsured road, while the Vellfire is RM100,000 lower at RM438,000.

The Alphard comes in four colors, namely Black, Platinum White Pearl, Precious Metal and Precious Leo Gold, with the last three being options priced at RM1,000. There are also two interior colors beige and black.

Meanwhile, the Vellfire’s color palette is smaller with just three options – Black, Platinum White Pearl and Precious Metal (the last two options cost an extra RM1,000) – and an interior only available in black. A 5-year, unlimited mileage warranty is included as standard.

In its latest form, the Alphard and Vellfire duo are built on the GA-K version of Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA) and have more rigidity than its predecessor. predecessor. Still boxy cars, both MPVs have more prominent exteriors, with each featuring model-specific markings to distinguish them.

The Alphard’s large grille has sporty chrome and “plated” accents, accompanied by slim headlights and signature LED daytime running lights that include dashed lines neatly integrated into the grille. On the other hand, the Vellfire’s sportier personality is represented by thick horizontal bars on the grille and large false air intakes in the corners, while the daytime running lights below the headlights are conventional light bars.

In terms of dimensions, the MPV is longer than before at 4,995 mm but retains the same width (1,850 mm) and wheelbase (3,000 mm). The ride height is not much different from before and varies between 1,935 mm and 1,945 mm depending on the model and variant selected.

Inside, you’ll find a more upscale cabin, with the Executive Lounge offering the most toys like improved functions for the captain’s seat in the second row. There’s even a removable panel that allows passengers to adjust media playback, climate settings, and sun visors if they don’t want to reach up to interact with the extra-long overhead Control Panel.

Again, UMWT has yet to officially say whether the Alphard and Vellfire will be launched here, but these price lists are certainly pretty convincing. Looking forward to it?
