Fiat on Wednesday unveiled two more EVs — one smaller and one larger, than the reborn 500e that the automaker has confirmed will sell in the US starting as early as 2024.

The Fiat 600e is a small crossover with a name reminiscent of the classic 1950s Fiat 600. The five-door 600e was introduced as a more practical alternative to the three-door 500e. However, at 164.1 inches long, it’s 3.1 inches shorter than the current petrol-powered Fiat 500X crossover.

A 54 kWh battery pack provides an estimated 250-mile range during the European WLTP test cycle. According to Fiat, DC fast charging with up to 100 kW can charge 80% in less than an hour, while an 11 kW AC charger can recharge the battery in less than six hours from a Level 2 source.

According to Fiat, a single electric motor generates 154 hp, enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds. The 600e uses the CMP modular platform from Stellantis, Fiat’s parent company, which debuted with the Jeep Avenger electric crossover in foreign markets.

Inside, the 600e offers 12.7 cubic feet of cargo space, enhanced by front interior storage areas, including in a central tunnel. The 600e also has expected tech features such as a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster with a 10.3-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and driver assistance such as adaptive cruise control, braking, and parking. automatic emergency and driver attention monitoring.

Fiat still plans to bring the 500e back to the United States starting in the first quarter of 2024, Fiat verified with Green Car Reports Wednesday, but has no plans to bring the 600e to the United States, Fiat’s parent company, Stellantis has also teased the idea of wireless charging for the 500e—perhaps dynamic charging will allow it wireless charging while traveling at highway speeds.

The second new Fiat EV also combines in a classic name with architecture shared with a fellow brand Stellantis. The Fiat Topolino is the nickname for the original Fiat 500 built between 1936 and 1955. It means “little mouse” in Italian, a reference to the car’s diminutive size.

The new Topolino is also very small, but this time it was remade Citroën Ami. It’s an electric two-seater with a top speed of 28 mph, which is technically a “quadricyle” under European regulations, meaning it can be driven without a full regional license. there.

Fiat hasn’t announced any specs for the Topolino yet, but it’s likely they won’t deviate from the Ami, which Stellantis has previously said will come to the US on a limited basis as part of the Free2Move car sharing. It is not clear if a Fiat version is included in this plan.
