Out with Valente and in with Vito Tourer.
Mercedes-Benz officially renamed the Valentes based on the moving van to Vito Tourer for the year 2022.
The move is in line with the global naming convention for the Vito range and future models, including eVito Tourer.
Along with the new name, Mercedes-Benz has launched Vito Tourer increased prices, new engine and transmission combinations, and additional standard features.
The price of Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer 2022 starts from $70,336 before road costsis a $4536 price increase over the upcoming Valente.

New standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, tinted windows, locking floor mats and adjustable seat cushion lengths.
The new Vito Tourer name and standard specifications will appear on all vehicles manufactured from March 2022 onwards, with the first ones expected to go on sale in May 2022. .
Under the bonnet of the Vito Tourer is a OM654 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine.
Outputs are unchanged, with 120kW of power and 380Nm of torque, and the old seven-speed automatic has been replaced by a nine-speed.
Mercedes-Benz says the new nine-speed has a wider differential that “could help improve transmission quality and fuel efficiency”, although local fuel economy figures have not been released.
The company says the new engine includes a diesel particulate filter (DPF) closer to the engine block, allowing it to reach optimum operating temperature more quickly, while minimizing noise and vibration.

Engine
New for 2022, aside from the name, is the car’s hybrid powertrain and turbo-diesel drivetrain.
2022 Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer powered by a OM654 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine manufacturing 120kW power and 380Nm of torque.
This new engine from the Vito Tourer combines a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and an all-aluminum construction. There are also improved noise and vibration characteristics.
The OM654 engine in the Vito Tourer is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, which has two more ratios than the 2021 Valente and sends power to the rear wheels only.
Energy saving
Mercedes-Benz Australia has yet to reveal official fuel economy figures for the 2022 Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer.
Vito Tourer has a 70 liter fuel tank.
