Audilarge, three rows Q7 The SUV that has gone into the 2022 model year is largely unchanged after a 2021 upgrade, except for a new, gasoline-powered SQ7.

As previously reported in February 2022, Audi Australia raises asking price before hitting the road for the core Q7 ranged between $4000 and $4200 as part of a broader price increase.

Core Audi Q7 range now starts at $109,100 before on-road costs for entry level Q7 45 TDI quattroand extended to 128,300 USD before road expenses for both Q7 55 TFSI S series quattro and Q7 50 TDI S series quattro.

Announced in March 2022Audi has officially switched from V8 TDI diesel engine to V8 TFSI petrol engine for high performance SQ7 model.

It costs from $164,400 before on-road expenses. An Audi spokesperson confirmed that the first examples of SQ7 TFSI has arrived on Australian soil.

SQ7 TFSI is currently powered by 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine manufacturing 373kW power and 770Nm of torque.

That’s 53kW more but 130Nm less than the previous twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 diesel, while the 0-100km/h time has been reduced by 0.7 seconds.

The engine is a stripped-down version of the RSQ8’s powertrain, shared with other models including RS6, RS7, Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urusthough without the RSQ8’s 48V mild hybrid technology.

The SQ7 TFSI also has a dual skin in the form of SQ8 TFSIIt is expected to arrive “in the next few weeks”, according to an Audi spokesman.

In the Q7 range, there are still a few features that are currently unavailable due to lack of semiconductors and components. Audi recommends consulting your local dealer for the most up-to-date information.

These temporarily missing features include matrix LED headlights, electrically adjustable steering column, electrically adjustable luggage compartment lid and wireless phone charging.

As of April 2022, Audi has sold a total of 401 Q7 models. It was sold out by BMW X5 (Sales of 913), Mercedes-Benz GLE wagon (sales 703), Lexus RX (564 sales), Land Rover Defender (Sales of 533), and Range Rover Sport (487 sales).

Engine

The core Audi Q7 2022 series is available with two different diesel engines and one petrol engine in Australia, all using 48V mild hybrid technology, while the SQ7 now comes with a twin-turbo V8 petrol engine.

Standard in 45 TDI is 3.0 liter turbo-diesel six-cylinder engine manufacturing 170kW power and 500Nm of torque. It has a claimed 0-100km/h time of 7.1 seconds.

50 TDI models also use 3.0 liter turbo-diesel sixeven though they produce 210kW and 600Nm and hit 100km/h in 6.1 seconds.

55 TFSI uses a 3.0 liters of turbocharged petrol V6 developing 250kW power and 500Nm torque and time from 0-100km/h is 5.6 seconds.

Audi SQ7 TFSI 2022 is now powered by a 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine manufacturing 373kW and 770Nm. Audi claims it can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 4.1 seconds.

All Q7s have an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.

Energy saving

The published combined cycle fuel economy figures for the Audi Q7 2022 range are as follows:

• 45 TDI: 7.0L / 100km
• 50 TDI: 6.8L / 100km
• 55 TFSI: 9.4L / 100km
• SQ7 TFSI: 12.1L / 100km

All Q7 models feature idling stop/start and have an 85L fuel tank.

The SQ7 features cylinder-on-demand technology that can force the V8 TFSI to run on four cylinders under low engine load conditions.

Size

Audi Q7 2022 valid at 5063mm Long, 1741mm high and 1970mm wide with a 2995mm The standard long.

Audi SQ7 2022 is a bit longer in 5067mm and slightly lower at 1784mm.

All models have a maximum brake drag of 3500kg, with a maximum towing ball weight of 350kg.

Service and Warranty

The Audi Q7 2022, like all new Australian Audis delivered from 1 January 2022, is covered by five-year, unlimited km warranty. Audi also offers a 12-year manufacturer warranty against body corrosion.

Audi is currently offering a five-year service package for the Q7. It costs $3410 for the regular Q7 models and $4100 for the SQ7.

Safety

The Audi Q7 2022 series carries a Five-star ANCAP Safety ratings based on testing in 2019.

Q7 scored 92% in adult protection, 87% in child protection, 71% in vulnerable pedestrian protection and 71% in safety assistance.
