Peugeot 508 and 3008 recalled twice


Inchcape, the Australian distributor of Peugeot, is recalling 508 GT Fastback Plug-in Hybrid And 3008 GT Sport Plug-in Hybrid in two separate recall messages revolving around their high voltage batteries.

The first recall notice affects 108 examples Later 508 GT Fastback Plug-in Hybrid And 3008 GT Sport Plug-in Hybrid production from 2021 to 2022.

“Due to a software program error, the battery management system software may cause the high-voltage battery to overheat and/or emit smoke,” the company said in the recall notice.

“If not repaired, this could result in the risk of burning the battery or vehicle while the vehicle is being recharged and/or in use.”

The second recall notice affects 106 examples of 508 GT Fastback Plug-In Hybrid and 3008 GT Sport Plug-In Hybrid produced between 2021 and 2022.

“Due to manufacturing issues, certain plug-in hybrid electric vehicles may not have a high-voltage battery reinforcement plate or a protective wax-coated battery cover,” the company said in the recall notice.

“If water enters, there is a risk of puncture or corrosion of the battery reinforcement plate/battery cover throughout the life of the vehicle.”

Both recall notices state that if you own an affected vehicle, contact your preferred authorized Peugeot dealer to get the job done free of charge as soon as possible.
