PDRM sets up special operations for big bikes – ‘Op Khas Motosikal Berkuasa Tinggi’ to make sure they follow the rules


They don’t pay tolls, but many of them drive much faster than most cars and are also reckless at times. So perhaps PDRM’s new special activities focused on high-powered motorcycles are just in time.

According to JSPT deputy director Bukit Aman of the PDRM, Mohd Nasri Omar, police have noted that drivers of high-powered motorcycles often drive at high speeds, along with other road crimes.

“As a precautionary move, JSPT will hold ‘Op Khas Motosikal Berkuasa Tinggi’ nationwide, where we will focus on cyclists committing traffic violations. It is known that motorbikes are the leading cause of traffic accidents, at 55%, higher than other vehicles,” he said. Sinar Harian Yesterday.

Nasri added that JSPT will always focus on motorcyclists, especially high-powered cyclists with this particular activity. He reminded that reckless and dangerous drivers could be charged under Section 42(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1987, and if found guilty, could be jailed for not more than 5 years and fines ranging from RM5,000 to RM15,000.

JSPT man advises all owners of large displacement bikes to be polite on the road, obey the rules and not get involved samseng jalanan activities. He added that JSPT will work alongside other enforcement agencies such as the JPJ and the National Drug Enforcement Administration (AADK) on this special operation.
