GT7 adds OG Maverick, similar R32-special for May update

Gran Turismo 7 The next update is out tomorrow, May 25th and it’s worth mentioning. Not because it’s the biggest in the world or anything – we’ve got three standard cars and no track. Still, the cars themselves are exciting, as are the quality-of-life changes that are sure to make those still playing very pleased.

For starters, a Ford Maverick is entering the game. Are not that thing Maverick, of course, but also not your skeleton coupe. Like the Roadster Shop Rampage Camaro, ERC Mach Forty and Sung Kang’s Fugu Z, this Maverick was built for SEMA, where it won the 2018 Gran Turismo Award, each GTPlanet. It was built by Greening Auto Company and also happens to use a Roadster Shop bodywork. Beneath it, you’ll find a twin-turbo Windsor V8 making 1,200 hp.

Another new addition – the 1990 Nissan Skyline GT-R Nismo – is also quite curious. See, the R32 GT-R is a giant of the group A touring car racingand in the early days of the car, Nissan built a special version of the R32 that could legally bring certain changes to the competition.

GT7 had a later 1994 R32 GT-R V-Spec II model, which had wider tires on larger BBS rims and Brembo brake calipers than previous non-V-Spec models.

These changes are not so obvious. The body of the R32 remains the same, unlike the unique product R33 GT-R LM Nismo Made for mid-decade endurance races. Nissan has slightly improved the aerodynamics of the R32, adding a flap below the rear spoiler as well as additional ducts in the front bumper. GTR-Registry.com. It removed the GT-R’s anti-lock braking system because Group A did not allow those systems but replaced them with a cross-drilled rotor.

The powertrain hasn’t had many tweaks either, except for the switch to a pair of Garrett T04B turbines, which use sturdier steel turbine wheels than the ceramic blades of the stock T03. All-around weight savings, including the removal of the stereo and air conditioning, are down about 66 pounds from the normal GT-R’s 3,150-pound mass. Only 500 pieces were produced.

With the arrival of the R32 Nismo also marks a new Café Menu Book, based on all Group A races. There the GT-R will be pitted against its contemporaries, the Sierra Cosworth RS500 – also added an update a few months ago – as well as E30 M3 Sports evolution. Another new Menu Book, showcasing GT’s SEMA team, also debuts in patch 1.34.

Finally, two major changes related to car upgrades and tuning will arrive on Thursday. First, you can now swap another car’s engine into your own through GT Auto — no Daily Exercise trigger needed. That’s big, because GT7 there are a lot of interesting engine swaps that were previously only possible with pure luck. And damn, those roulette odds suck.

Second, the “Ultimate” upgrade type — previously also given as a gift and not purchasable — has been added to the Tuning Store. Parts in that section include titanium rods and pistons, an even more impressive Stage 5 weight reduction, carbon post shafts and high RPM turbochargers and turbochargers. However, please note that you will need to reach Collector Level 50 before you can access either of the two new features.

Wrapping up the update is a 1967 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Veloce, likely for the legendary Hagerty Auto Dealer. Aside from any other low-level tweaks that will be published with the full patch notes tomorrow, here’s what GT7 players will be treated in May. With the game out for 15 months, you have to wonder when Polyphony Digital intends to garner support of its own and if any major discounts, such as new tracks, will be available. appear or not. I still keep hope for Mid-Field.
