Chery Malaysia signs warehousing and spare parts transportation agreement with Tiong Nam Logistics
Chery Malaysia has announced that it has signed a logistics service agreement with transport logistics provider Tiong Nam Logistics Holdings to later handle Chery’s spare parts warehouse in Malaysia.
Tiong Nam, a leading logistics and warehousing provider with more than 90 spare parts warehouses nationwide, will also handle the transportation aspects related to Chery’s upcoming project. omoda 5 And Tiggo 8 Pro SUV, set to officially introduced on July 6. With an agreement reached on spare parts storage and logistics arrangements, the Chinese automaker expressed that it is looking forward to reintroducing products here. The company’s country manager, Leo Chen, said that Malaysia is seen as a promising market in Southeast Asia and important for the company’s global expansion plans.
The company added that Malaysia will be a strategic market for Chery’s right-hand drive (RHD) vehicles and said it will look to establish connections with neighboring countries after entering Malaysia to strengthen market influence in the region.
The automaker has announced that it has turned Malaysia into right hand drive R&D and production centerand also the B-segment Omoda 5 – which will compete with the likes of the Honda HR-V, Toyota Corolla Cross and Proton X50 – and the Tiggo 8 Pro will follow the CKD route from the start, locally assembled at Inokom’s base headquarters in Kulim.
