Panel: How was your impression of Anthony Yarde’s performance against Artur Beterbiev on Saturday?

Yarde really impressed me and I think he was slightly better (on the scoreboard) in stoppage time. The fighting spirit and heart that he shows is enough to make anyone respect him. I am a fan! Beterbiev is the elite, but Yarde has really pushed him into the toughest fight to date. It’s a shame about the outcome, but he played his part in a modern-day classic.

I am very impressed with Yarde. I think he did a great job early in the teamfight and caused Beterbiev a lot of problems. But, again, Betterbiev shows that he can overcome any problem or situation and find a way to win. As I said a long time ago, that over-the-top authority always ends up causing problems for his opponents.

Massive. He is seriously hanging with a serious, serious boxer. He will and should be proud of his efforts. He lost to an elite level fighter with elite strength and was never ashamed to lose to someone better. The same goes for props for Tunde Ajayi. I always prefer the referee to stop the fight but he knows his fighter best.

Very impressed by Yarde. He inflicted more dents on Beterbiev than we’ve ever seen against other world-class opponents and he certainly injured him in the match. Yarde’s game plan is perfect. His heart, resilience, strength, power and fitness were all there for the first half of the match and only the balanced power that Beterbiev brought with him ended Yarde’s night. I thought Yarde was going to be world champion after Bivol and Beterbiev went, but he was up against a modern master in this fight.
