SSD ambassador

Designed for portability without sacrificing performance, the Envoy line has a new addition: the Envoy SSD. Considered a smaller footprint compared to their Envoy Pro models, the Envoy still has an aircraft-grade aluminum case and sustained speeds of 1000MB/s thanks to its heat-friendly design. It’s a palm-sized drive with a USB-C interface that has USB 3.2 speeds of 10 GB/s. The case is shock and drop resistant, but full IP water and shock resistance is reserved for the Envoy Pro Elektron. Pricing starts at $149.99 for the 1 TB model and $279.99 for the 2 TB model, expected to ship in May.

Upgrade capacity

OWC is also expanding its existing product lines with higher capacity models. The Envoy Pro Elektron, their mid-range portable SSD with an IP67 rating and speeds around 1000MB/s, will now get a 4TB model. Before Available in 1 and 2TB capacitiesThe new 4TB model will be available in early May.

OWC’s Envoy Pro Mini, which features external SSD performance in the form of a thumb drive, is a particularly interesting product for mobile videographers. It has both USB-C and USB-A interfaces, with maximum speeds of up to 946MB/s. iPhone videographers shooting ProRes will now have a great option for moving those bulky files around. Before Available in 500GB and 1TB capacitiesThe new model will have 2 TB of storage with an MSRP of $299.99 and will be available on April 11.
