in one recent articles, I talked about the incredible quality of photographic equipment, from camera bodies to lenses, that most major brands manufacture these days. That list of brands includes Canon, Nikon, Sony and many more that you might want to include there. It was in response to a video in which the creator, a dedicated Sony user, touched Canon EOS R5 and the included lenses and absolutely love the Canon user experience. “Why be surprised,” I asked. Today, every established manufacturer in all industries makes great products, so it’s no surprise that a competing brand is good. But every now and then, a particular model emerges that, for whatever reason, blows away its competitors. Is that what we’re about to see from Canon?
That question brings us to this great video by Tony Northrup, in which he discusses the new Canon EOS R5 Mark II, due out sometime next year. Northrups has 1.25 million YouTube subscribers, so they have some serious influence in the industry, and their opinions and views are clearly important to people and companies alike. So let Tony say, in the first 30 seconds of the video, the Canon EOS R5 Mark II has some “incredible specs that totally blow your mind”. Sony a7R DRAW and Nikon Z9” will certainly catch our attention. Some of the rumored specs include an increased sensor size from 45 MP to 61 MP and the ability to generate 240 MP pixel-shifted images.
