Square Enix said that Outriders was successful enough for them to justify expanding upon it, and so they will. During a live stream today, they announced a major free update is coming to the People Can Fly player shooter on Tuesday, with the full expansion to follow in 2022. Through Tuesday, the New Horizons update will be free for everyone. It will add four new expeditions in new areas, add Transmog, rebalance and fix various issues, give some free armor, add transmog, and remove the time limit from expeditions risk while scaling their rewards based on their time.
“Previously, rewards for Expeditions were granted based on how quickly you could complete an Expedition,” the developers explain. “For most players, this means forcing them to participate in a particular DPS meta that prevents build diversity. Players will be able to change the look of their clothes and weapons (including sounds) for free and “realistically at any time” through just a menu.
