Oscar De La Hoya has been accused of sexual assault, according to multiple reports.
The Walk of Fame boxing promoter was sued by a former employee of the Casa Mexico tequila company, accusing De La Hoya, a partner in the company, of assaulting her twice in March 2020 at an event near a distillery in Mexico and later. back in Los Angeles.
The woman, who has not been identified, told Casa Mexico about De La Hoya’s actions but alleges it was nothing.
The woman’s attorney, Sylvia Torres-Guillen, told LA time that her client “has been severely impacted.”
“As a survivor of this abuse, she wants others to know this behavior is unacceptable and it doesn’t matter who you are. We will seek justice on her behalf,” the attorney said.
De La Hoya denies any wrongdoing. He told the Times in a statement:
“With the 24-hour news cycle, we all find ourselves in, more often than not, malicious and gratuitous accusations that are interpreted as fact without evidence to support false claims. their mistake. I trust my legal team to resolve this matter and prove my innocence.”
The newspaper reported that the lawsuit alleges De La Hoya walked up to the woman’s hotel room door “with his pants down to her ankles, then pushed into her room and onto her bed. She pushed him off the bed and took him to his room, opened the door, and immediately returned to his own room.”
The woman said she went to De La Hoya’s room the next morning to wake him up after he wasn’t available to tour the distillery. She said that he then “pulled [her] into his bed, where he sexually assaulted her. ”
She alleges that De La Hoya assaulted her again when a group of company executives visited his home in Los Angeles.
“At a certain point, when De La Hoya was alone with [the woman], he revealed and retrieved a sex object from a collection stored in his home. Not available [her] agreed, De La Hoya forcibly inserted sexual objects [her] body,” the petition disputes.
The woman apparently didn’t come sooner for fear of retribution, according to the lawsuit.
The civil suit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.
