Every year, the Impy Awards celebrate friend, the Dreams community, and all the incredible work you’ve done inside and outside of Dreamiverse. It’s been the absolute highlight of our year to put together a program that captures the last year of Dreams and that’s exactly what we plan to do with the 4th Annual Impy Awards earlier in the year. next.
Today, we are pleased to announce that nominations for the 4th Annual Impy Awards are now open. This year, you can place yourself or your dreamers in any of our 23 categories. These will then be shortlisted and presented to a panel of judges (and traditionally a few will be open to the public to vote!). You can Start submitting nominations right here.
When it comes to our categories, we love to get feedback after each Impy Awards and develop them to better represent all areas of the Dream. This year, it looks like we may have made the final list! So without further ado, here are the categories for the 4th Annual Impy Awards:
- Creator/Group of the Year: This Impy recognizes the creator or group of creators who have shone the most in the Dreamiverse over the past year, with creations that have captured the attention of dreamers and left them wanting more.
- Artwork of the year: This Impy recognizes an outstanding creation released for this year’s Dreamiverse. This top-of-the-line creation excels in many areas and creates an amazing experience to be recognized as one of the best in the Dreamiverse.
- Excellence in art direction: This Impy recognizes creativity that embodies professional quality and style, consistently in visual and artistic design.
- Excellence in environmental arts: This Impy recognizes the strongest environmental art in Dreams, showcasing amazing property design, world building, and extraordinary use of light and style.
- Excellence in Narrative: This Impy recognizes a work of compelling storytelling, introducing the story and developing the plot with utmost skill.
- Excellence in Sculpture: This Impy recognizes a Dreamiverse sculpture as a great example of the potential of Dreams’ sculpting tools.
- Outstanding Animation: This Impy recognizes creativity with motion screens best done in Dream, be it a puppet, short film or elaborately choreographed game animation.
- Excellence in Gameplay: This Impy recognizes an innovation with refined, expertly executed gameplay ideas and mechanics, delivering a truly amazing player experience.
- The most original gameplay: This Impy recognizes an innovative display of truly original and unique gameplay mechanics.
- Excellence in character design: This Impy realizes a Dreams character that is well constructed and has a high level of personality and originality.
- Excellence in sound design: This Impy recognizes a piece of creative sound design and well executed.
- Excellent voice acting: This Impy recognizes a creator who has contributed their voice to a work of a high standard. This may include, but is not limited to, voicing a character or narrating a scene.
- Excellence in VR: This Impy recognizes a Dreams VR creation that excels at implementing virtual reality experiences and is a great example of what is possible with VR tools and Dreams creation.
- Song of the Year: This Impy recognizes an excellent piece of music, composed and created in Dreams.
- Musician of the Year: This Impy recognizes a Dreams sound creator who demonstrated an excellent understanding of the Dreams sound engines, producing music of high quality. This is possible, but not limited to indie music or scores for games.
- Community star: This Impy recognizes a prominent member of the Dream Community who has gone above and beyond for the wider community. This award could go to a streamer, curator, broadcaster, creator, fan site editor – someone who acts as a champion for Dreams. !
- The most useful dreamer: This Impy recognizes an individual’s contributions to the spread of knowledge through the Dreamiverse. Whether through streams, collaborations, in-game tutorials, community chats, or other work, they’ve helped other dreamers reach their full potential.
- Community cooperation: This Impy recognizes a community-run event that invites other dreamers to come together to create something amazing.
- Breakthrough Dreamer: This Impy recognizes a dreamer who joined Dreamiverse in 2022 and made an impact on the community and Dreams with creativity, community contributions, or both!
- Beyond Dreams Contribution: This Impy recognizes a member of the community that shares and celebrates the Dream Universe beyond Dreams. This can – but is not limited to – blogging, creating videos, streaming, and podcasts.
- Curator Star: This Impy recognizes community members with the best collections and contributions to highlighting Dreamiverse creations.
- Innovation in creativity: This Impy recognizes an innovator or creator who has pushed the boundaries of what is possible with Dreams tools, whether by finding a unique application of the tools or developing an original idea head to push the boundaries of creativity.
- Development experience: This Impy recognizes a Dreamiverse creation that has grown significantly over the past year, even when it was started right in the Dreams beta.
