The mother of 9-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel told her killer to “own” in an emotional video.
Cheryl Korbel, who has Girl was shot dead at their home in Dovecot, Liverpool, to pay tribute to her “little shadow” in a video shot and released by Merseyside Police.
Dressed in a cast on her wrist after being injured in the shooting, Ms Korbel tearfully said she hoped whoever was responsible for the killings would come forward.
“You know you did it wrong, so you need to master it,” she said.
“Like I taught my kids, what you do wrong, you own it.
“If anyone is hiding these guns, they need to speak up because they need to stay off these streets.
“No one, no one has to go through this.”
Mrs Korbel said Olivia was “wonderful” and “loving life”.
“She was my little shadow. She went everywhere with me,” added Mrs. Korbel.
“Everybody she met, they loved her. She left a mark on everyone she met.
“She may only be nine years old but she’s packed a lot in those nine years.
“She never, ever stopped talking – and that’s what I miss most because I couldn’t hear her talk.
“We held outings, we were on vacation. We went swimming Liv.
“We went to Blackpool, just me and Liv.
“We talked about going to buy new school uniforms but I didn’t have that opportunity to get new uniforms.
“But I’ll carry on, for Liv’s sake.”
Earlier, Olivia’s father paid tribute to his daughter and said her death “couldn’t be in vain”, and urged anyone with information about her death to go ahead.
In a statement, John Francis Pratt and his wider family said: “We do not want another child to lose their life in such terrible circumstances and we do not want to see another family suffer. as we are suffering now.
“Olivia’s death can’t be in vain and we want everyone to feel safe and secure, that can only happen if we all come together and make sure there’s no room for guns, or gun users on the street or in our community.”
Olivia was shot at her home when a gunman chased convicted burglar Joseph Nee into the property around 10 p.m. on August 22.
An autopsy revealed that the medical cause of her death was a gunshot wound to the chest.
A 34-year-old man from Liverpool arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder remains in custody after police were given an extension to continue questioning him.
Three other men were arrested on suspicion of aiding an inmate.
