Odds, Picks at the 2022 Open Championship: Tiger Woods predictions from top golf model nailed eight majors

There are 28 ways a player can qualify for the 2022 Open Championship, including being a former winner of the tournament 60 years or younger. Meeting that standard would allow many champions from last year to compete at the 2022 British Open, including John Daly, David Duval and Ernie Els. Tiger Woods’ last win at the event was in 2006, making it the biggest tournament with his longest winless drought. Woods will have a sense of nostalgia for the 2022 Open as it took place on the same field he won the tournament twice before. Tee time at the first 2022 Open Championship is on Thursday, July 14.

The Old Course at St Andrews will host this year’s British Open 2022. Woods is one of 21 former champions at the 2022 Open, but he is a 40-1 long shot in Open Championship odds. The latest 2022 expansion from Caesars Sportsbook. The favorite is 2014 champion Rory McIlroy (9-1), while other 2022 Open title contenders include Jon Rahm (11-1), Scottie Scheffler (12-1), Justin Thomas (14-1) and defending champion Collin Morikawa (18-1). The SportsLine-exclusive model, built by DFS expert Mike McClure, has been on fire since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, it’s raised nearly $9,600 on bookings. Best bet from that point on, nailing one league after another.

At the 2022 Masters, McClure’s pattern was all of Scottie Scheffler’s career-first major championship wins over the weekend. This pattern also nailed Tiger Woods’ precise finishing position at Augusta National before the tournament started (47th). Beyond that, McClure’s best bets include Collin Morikawa winning the 2021 Open Championship outright, though he ranks among the huge 40-1 rangers.

This same model also nailed a whopping eight majors over the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has noticed huge profits.

Now that the 2022 Open Championship arena is taking shape, SportsLine has simulated the event 10,000 times and the results are astounding. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected standings for the 2022 Open Championship.

Top Predictions for the 2022 Open Championship

A big shock the model is calling for at the 2022 Open Championship: Scottie Scheffler, the world No. 1 ranked tennis player and one of the top favorites, stumbles at St. Andrews and almost made it into the top 5. Scheffler has experienced a full range of emotions at this year’s major tournaments, starting with his win at masters. After that, he failed to find at the PGA Championship, where he missed the opportunity before becoming runner-up at the US Open.

Those peaks and valleys are the microcosm of Scheffler’s entire season, as of his 20 PGA tournaments, 8 resulted in the top 5 and 8 resulted outside the top 15. His massive inconsistency could indicate he’s had tee trouble, where he’s ranked 47th in strokes achieved (.302) after ranking no worse than 17th over the past three years. Scheffler falls outside the top 100 for driving accuracy percentage (59.85%), a red flag on a track with over 100 bunkers as well as many other hazards.

The model also revealed where Tiger Woods will end up in the 2022 Open Championship. Woods has not competed in an official event since withdrawing from the PGA Championship after 54 holes in May. He finished with 9 out of 79 in the third round, his worst round ever at the PGA Championship.

Woods has only competed in two official tournaments since sustaining an injury in a car crash last February that resulted in a disqualification and only a top 50 finish at the Masters in April. He told reporters that he planned to play the US Open, but he ended up skipping the tournament to prepare his body for the Open Championship. Three of his 15 major championships have come at the event, including wins at St. Andrews in 2000 and 2005. Model just locked in Tiger Woods British Open selections here.
