OBS March Under Tack Show was briefly stopped due to rain
The opening session under the spotlight of the March Sales for 2-year-old calves during Ocala’s training got off to a quick start on March 10 before the storms were moving. 09 3/5 from Hip 139, a juvenile pony of Bayern deposited by the agent Really and Truly Thoroughbreds.
Finally, at around 1pm, the settled work was halted for about 45 minutes before the rest of the day’s activities were cancelled, leaving about 56 horses left to roam. Thankfully, the first horse for the Really and Truly Thoroughbreds shipper was able to get out and lay down in the quickest time of the day before being postponed.

This year returns to OBS properties from his first sale in 2021 at the October Sale for $12,000. Dark Bay aka brown pony is Sophia Mia’s first pony (by Pioneers of the Nile ) and bred in Florida by Caperlane Farm. Relatively young family from 2nd grade, second dam Amie’s Dini , second in Honeybee Stakes (G3), Fantasy Stakes (G2) and third in Delaware Oaks (G2). Daughter of Bandini is a half-sibling with a half-brother Kid Kate (via Lemon Drop Kid ), who wins the big bet and is placed in both the Distaff Handicap (G2) and the Bed o’ Roses Handicap (G3).
The all-weather track at OBS proved quick on Thursday as the 17 minors stopped the clocks at: 09 4/5 for the eighth run of the day. Eight fillings and nine ponies make up the second fastest time of the day.

- Hip 14: a filly by Honor code are half-brothers with shares Gold for kittens , deposited by Two Oaks Equine. Mixed boy Kenneth and Sarah Ramsey changed hands at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Chronology Festival for $11,000.
- Hip 37: a More Than Ready pony from ‘s current family Great cutting was recently placed in La Brea Staking (G1), and the winner stakes Lemieux . Under the second dam is the producer Bonnie Blue Flag Millionaire’s dam and hot bets Pegasus World Cup recently presented by hero 1S/T BET (G1) Life is good . - Hip 44: a filly by Moon Malibu and from the damn Private Jet, the half-sister to the 2 and 3 year old male champion and now the male Look at luck . She was consigned by Top Line Sales, agent, from Barn 1.
- Hip 59: a filly by City of light , deposited by Wavertree Stables. This is the first pony from Union Rags mare Redbud, half brother to 3rd grade winner Lovely tomcat and three other bet winners. The Kentucky-bred dog is a $155,000 Dalmatian from the Keeneland September Sale.
- Hip 61: a colt by The best dark or brown bay glides lightly on the surface and is consigned by Julie Davies, agent, from Barn 1. Davies bought the pony from Keeneland September sale for $72,000.
- Hip 63: a colt by Street boss Texas pony, consigned by Halcyon Hammock Farm, dealer, and originally purchased from the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Yearling Sale by Hoby Kight for $130,000.
- Hip 81: a pony of a first year stallion Bolt d’Oro , deposited by Ciaran Dunne from Barn 5. A Pennsylvania pony with two half-brothers is deposited. A pinhook for Dunne, this foal sold for $125,000 at the Keeneland September Sale.
- Hip 82: a pony of the new sire Good magic originally sourced from the Keeneland September Sale for $70,000. He comes from the family of old champion mares and Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) winners Escena . Wavertree Stables, dealer, consigns this chestnut Kentucky foal.
- Hip 89: a colt by Evenly , the first pony of this year’s Triple Crown winner is 2 years old. Eddie Woods, special agent, delivers February’s Kentucky pony, who comes from the family of Nine Keys and Silver Voice first-level winners.
- Hip 95: a filly by Munnings , flashy chestnuts flew over the ground Thursday morning for shipper Eddie Woods, agent. The Fasig-Tipton-Brewed Kentucky Breed is July sale for $40,000.
- Hip 107: a filly by Bee Jersey was one of three offered for sale to this new male at the March sale. Top Line Sales, agents, consignment junk from Barn 1; she was originally purchased from Keeneland September $42,000 off. She comes from the family of Charles Fipke hybrid Perfect soul .
- Hip 110: a Street Boss slut, commissioned by Off the Hook, her agent is not a stake mare Searching for light . The original Kentucky crossbreed was seen through the Fasig-Tipton July Sale, which sold for $30,000.
- Hip 129: a filly by Lord Nelson , deposited by Off the Hook, agent. This lovely girl comes from a European family of winners in Honfleur , Carnegie and Antisaarall from the winner of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (G1) Detroit . The Brandywine Ranch that bred this stout dog sold for $42,000 at Keeneland’s September sale.
- Hip 164: a pony of Bolt d’Oro, consigned by Britton Peak, agent. This pony comes from a sister who completely won level 1 Capo Bastone . The Kentucky pony was sourced from the Keeneland September Sale for $50,000.
- Hip 190: a colt by Cloud computing , his first case is 2 years old this year. Originally submitted through the Fasig-Tipton July Sale, this foal brought in $50,000; he was deposited by Paul Sharp, agent, from Barn 8.
The Good Samaritan pony denoted Hip 177 runs a quarter mile in: 20 3/5 at the OBS under tack show
Only one horse ran the fastest quarter mile on: 5/20 on Thursday, Hip 177, a pony of The Good Samaritan . Commissioned by Pick View, dealer, the foal was bred in Kentucky by St. Elias Stables out Sightstown Horses Sweat and Saddle and Praise from Families of Graded Stake Winners Good Monied and Will’s Secret. Pick View secured this colt for $120,000 from Keeneland’s September Sale.
The remaining 56 horses are unable to ride on their scheduled date of departure on March 11, starting at 8 a.m. ET, followed by Hips 213 through 424. The final day of the posthumous period. will be March 12, with Hips 425 through 635.
The auction runs March 15-16 in Ocala, Fla., with sessions starting at 10:30 a.m. EST daily. The portfolio includes 635 entries and as of the end of the program on March 10, there have been 93 withdrawals.
