This classic code unlocks characters and courses

From the game’s title screen (pictured above), you’ll need to enter the following inputs:
D-pad
- Down down
- Left, Left, Left
- Yes Yes Yes
OLD button
- C-Down, C-Down
- C-Left, C-Left, C-Left
- C-Right, C-Right, C-Right
This is all a continuous stream of input, and if you get it right, you’ll hear a chime.

Struggling with code?
If you are using Nintendo Switch Joy-Con or Pro Controller instead of traditional N64 gamepadNote, these inputs can be complicated with the Switch’s control sticks. I recommend using the D-pad for the first group, and the Y, X, B, and A buttons (while holding the ZR button to make them a directional C button) for the second.
For those of you who haven’t played any N64 games via Switch Online and are wondering what I’m even talking about here, you can either use the Switch’s right sidebar for the C buttons, or you can hold down the ZR to rotate Y , X, B and A to C-Left, C-Up, C-Down and C-Right respectively. You get used to it, but yeah, that’s the whole point. The N64 controller is ideal.
Don’t forget about alternate character colors
Oh, and one more tip. I never knew this or completely forgot about it, but you can use the directional C buttons to select alternate colors As for the characters, some of which seem hilariously unbranded by modern Nintendo standards. This is a summary tableif you’re curious.
