No trends on hot days in May, despite office misinformation – Are you excited about that?
By Paul Homewood
I posted this a few weeks ago here.
Now that we have the full numbers for this May, we can take a closer look at the CET trend.
ECA&D has data for 2020, but no dates of 25C or higher, either this May or last May. The highest temperature is 22.8C and 21.8C, respectively.
Apparently there is no upward trend in “Summer days”, 90th percentile or maximum daily temperature:

Any attempt by the Met Office to convince the public otherwise is reprehensible.

I noticed on testing that the current CET data doesn’t match the data above – 1947, for example, only shows three 25C+ days, as opposed to four on ECA&Ds.
When I compare the two, I see that all CET daily numbers have now been rolled back to one day. So the four days ECA&Ds record 25C is from May 28 to 31. Official CET data now lists similar temperatures from May 29 to June 1.
Without a doubt, there is a good reason for this!
