Nikon launches 660GB class B CFexpress memory card
With all the noise around New firmware 2.0 for Nikon Z9you might have missed the Japanese company sneaking a few lines into their press release about their new CFexpress memory card, which is “especially suitable for video recording/still photography with mirrorless cameras.” flip the FX format / full-frame Nikon Z9.”
That’s because the CFexpress Class B card offers a maximum read speed of about 1700MB/s and a maximum write speed of about 1500MB/s. (Stable read/write speeds are not offered.) That means it should be more than capable of handling 8K RAW video or the ultra-fast continuous sequence that Z9 users throw at it. It’s also 660GB, which should be a generous amount for most people.
Starting in June, the Nikon MC-CF660G CFexpress card will have an MSRP of $730.
