In a bid to revive his fortunes, the paper said Mr Johnson was planning to “mass clean” staff at No 10 – among them his chief personal secretary, Martin Reynolds, who has sent the infamous “bring your own booze” email to Downing Street colleagues at the height of the first lockdown.
