New Jersey State Senator-Elect Edward Durr Meets With CAIR After Offensive Anti-Muslim Tweet – CBS Philly
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) — New Jersey State Senator-elect Edward Durr met with members of CAIR Wednesday evening after an offensive 2019 tweet of his resurfaced. Durr, a business truck driver, defeated state Senate President Steve Sweeney in final week’s election.
CAIR offered an image of their sit-down in Washington Township.
The assembly got here after Durr, a Republican, apologized for an offensive tweet about Muslims again in 2019, the place he referred to Islam as a “false faith” and “a cult of hate.”
CAIR and the senator-elect talked to Eyewitness Information after their assembly.
“I believe we had a really productive dialog and I believe it’s going to be one among hopefully many,” CAIR-NJ Govt Director Selaedin Maksut mentioned.
