Latest trailer for Netflix Resident Evil The live-action series is out. Between the Umbrella message and the world full of zombies, it really seems to be doing its own thing with the source material.
The series looks set to take place in two different eras: in a world overrun by zombies and in the past, showing the events that led to the downfall.
The past shows that Umbrella is developing new advances but at a heavy cost. As Lance Reddick’s Wesker put it, the T-Virus is present in some products, resulting in “monsters”. And you can guess what will come next.
We move into the future, and it goes from impending horror to all World War Z. Essentially, the world seems to be brimming with various biological horrors.
Demons in residence
This is not the first video game adaptation to take liberties with its source material. And for Resident Evilit’s really working fine in the past. Although more recent adaptations of Resident Evil on the silver screen no such good results.
Netflix has had its own ups and downs in adapting video games, though its successes are notable. Castlevania and Arcane All of them scored highly for the adaptation. You can also modify the definition a bit and ask The Witcher under that umbrella, too. But there are also some less-than-stellar attempts, like Dragon dogma.
Obviously, Netflix Resident Evil is doing its own thing, and I’m cautiously optimistic about that. But each new trailer brings it into the same territory as the other zombie series out there. And there is a so many of the zombie series out there. I’m curious if ‘s coat Resident Evil they’re at the top, and a performance from its solid cast could push it above the fold.
We will find out if this is new Resident Evil thrive in the zombie apocalypse when it launches on July 14th. If not, there’s always Resident Evil 4 rework, do it again looking forward to next year.
