The start of the 2022-2023 NBA Regular Season is rapidly approaching, meaning NBA 2K23 is even closer to its September 9 launch. Brand new feature and now we’re excited to announce the return of exclusive challenges to our PlayStation 5 community!
Last year, we launched PlayStation 5 MyTEAM-exclusive challenges such as “Help Against Dirk & Luka” to kick off Season 1 of NBA 2K22. The latest iteration of the NBA 2K franchise will introduce similar challenges on the PlayStation 5, but this year they revolve around Michael Jordan, further highlighting this year’s Championship Edition cover athlete.
Powered by PlayStation 5’s next-level technology, navigating to the Jordan Challenge is super easy. By pressing the PS button, while on the Main Menu, each Active Card will appear consecutively. Scroll through each of the 2K23 modes that appear on the Activity Card, and when you’re ready, press SQUARE to start the Activity. It’s really easy.
Below, we’ve outlined the release challenges with each Season this year, so you can get a preview of what’s to come!
Part 1: Rookie of the Year
When Jordan set foot in the jungle as a rookie, he wasted no time establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with in both attack and defence. To kick off the first Season of NBA 2K23, you’ll be tasked with stopping him and his ’85 Chicago Bulls teammates. Assemble a squad and score 50 points as a team to beat Jordan and claim your reward.
Part 2: The All-Star Dunker
Jordan has always possessed rudimentary fitness, but he showed his best during All-Star Weekend in 1988, winning his second straight in the Slam Dunk Competition. Meet Slam Dunk Champion and All-Star MVP at the belt, along with his ’88 Eastern Conference All-Star teammates. Throw down 10 ferocious dunks to successfully complete the challenge.
Season 3: Defend the Championship
MJ’s defense proved to be a major contributing factor in his 1991 NBA Finals win, securing the first ring of his career. Tell the player all nine times that you have your own locked-down defense by shooting down five shots.
Part 4: Winning as a team
His Airness brought in hardware for the Most Valuable Player and MVP in the final in 1992, but he couldn’t have done it without the support of his teammates. Despite being an excellent scorer, Jordan is also an excellent supporter. Dispatch 10 team assists in Season 4 to claim your reward.
Part 5: Peat trio
By 1993, the Chicago Bulls looked unstoppable. With Jordan in the lead, the Bulls did what few teams in NBA history have done by winning three consecutive NBA Finals. To honor the three peacocks, hit five trios at the Bulls in MyTEAM and give them a taste of their own potion.
Part 6: Flying Air Jordan
The 1996 All-Star team featured high-flying talent, headed by Michael Jordan. The All-Star Game is usually a sassy festival where the league’s most talented players launch a series of competitions. Raise your MyTEAM squad to victory by soaring above the belt for 10 dunks and claim your rewards.
Part 7: Facing 72-Win Bulls
In 1996, the sports world thought the Chicago Bulls’ 72-game winning streak would be untouchable, and for more than 20 years it has. Season 7’s challenge is an homage to the record-breaking Bulls, requiring you to score 72 points against them and win. You think you have completed the task?
Part 8: Behind the Arcs
The game has changed over the years, with more teams and players relying heavily on three-pointers. While it’s more common today than it was in the 90s, there were flashy three-pointers in Jordan’s era. Release a series of three pointers and spend 10 of them as a group to reach the target.
Part 9: GOAT .’s Ultimate Challenge
Michael Jordan’s final dance is a sight to behold. The Bulls finished their second three in the ’90s with victory in the 1998 NBA Finals. Jordan had a Game 6 clinic to close the streak with 45 points, adding to a capital legacy. was very impressed. Recreate Jordan’s memorable outing with a 45-point match of your own.
This year’s rewards include an exclusive Diamond Shoe Color Path, 5 shoe boosts, and a gold badge for a total of 7 bonus cards per challenge. All nine challenges will be playable on PlayStation5, and each is integrated with an Activity Card for you to use at your leisure.
