Nauticam announces case for Fujifilm X-T5

Nauticam is currently shipping its new housing for Fujifilm XT-5. The flagship crop-sensing mirrorless camera now has a 40MP sensor (up from 26MP) but still shoots at 15fps with the mechanical shutter. It also boasts significant video enhancements, including the ability to record 6.2K/30p oversampled at 4:2:2 10-bit internal color as well as 6.2K/30p RAW output 12-bit to an external recorder.

With the X-T4 case, Nauticam decided to eliminate the ability to house the USB power supply underneath the camera due to the impressive performance of the X-T4’s upgraded battery. With the X-T5 case, power supply support is back, as the XT-5’s more power-hungry video capabilities once again put more strain on the battery inside.

Nauticam, on the other hand, stuck to its tried-and-true formula: important controls are rerouted in the right places around the built-in handle, the wide M24 baffle houses an HDMI2.0 connection to Atomos Ninja V and compatibility with Nauticam’s optional Mini Flash Trigger for high-speed flashing in manual mode. Fujifilm’s included hotshoe-mounted EF-X8 flash can also be placed inside the case for automatic TTL exposure to various wardrobes.

Introducing NA-XT5

FUJIFILM X-T5

The Fujifilm X-T5 has a 40MP APS-C CMOS 4 X-Trans 5 HR BSI Sensor. The X-T5 is equipped with the new X 5 Processor that delivers blazing fast performance and improved responsiveness. Improved in-body stabilization benefits up to 7EV, which is a significant boon for videographers. The intelligent 425-point hybrid AF tracking system now has a sensitivity down to -7EV for precise focusing in extremely low-light conditions.

The X-T5 allows you to shoot 6.2K 30p or 4K 30p oversampled with 1.23x crop factor, or 4K 60p subsampled with the full width of the sensor. When combined with Atomos Ninja V, the X-T5 can output ProRes RAW format up to 6.2K 12-bit. Like the X-T4, the X-T5 also features HLG and F-Log capture to increase dynamic range, preserving highlights and shadows for editing. New to the X-T5 is F-Log2 which gives you over 13 stops of dynamic range instead of just 12 stops with F-Log.

NAUTICAM NA-XT5 . AUTOMATIC DRAWING

Nauticam has supported all previous XT cameras and continues to create innovative and super functional covers for this series with the NA-XT5 underwater housing. The NA-XT5 features a DSLR-style carrying case and a port locking mechanism as well as a built-in ergonomic handle. The case is designed with our Mission Control concept in mind to place the most important camera controls as close to the grip as possible for quick and easy camera operation to ensure you don’t miss a shot.

The NA-XT5 has a thumb lever near both grips, with the left lever triggering playback and the right thumb lever controlling AF-ON. The case includes two M14 and one M24 baffle holes to accommodate a variety of accessories.

The NA-XT5 uses the N100 Port System shared with the Fujifilm XH1, XT3 and XT4 systems. A wide range of port options are available for a wide variety of lenses.

Premium professional optics

Nauticam’s wide range of ports and internally calibrated optics are the perfect compliment to the inherent versatility of the NA-XT5. Built around the N100 Port System, the NA-XT5 supports a wide variety of X-mount lenses. Additionally, there are several options available to use the groundbreaking wide-angle correction lenses WACP-1 and WACP-C as well as the more compact and water-removable WWL-1B and WWL-C.

For example, with the Fuji XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS lens, the WACP-1 brings an impressive 75º to 130º native field of view with sharper corners, ~0″ minimum focusing distance, and a the image looks more natural than standard glass dome port.For full compatibility with water contact lenses you can see the port chart here.

HDMI2.0

A large bore M24 baffle is located at the front of the case for use with HDMI 2.0 or HDMI 1.4 monitors and recorders (with step-down to M16 converter). The X-T5 can output up to 6.2K 12-bit ProRes RAW via HDMI 2.0. See the resources sidebar for more details and recommended setup.

Activate the flash

Reliable auto flash exposure is available with the NA-XT5 and a variety of optically activated flashes, accurately reproducing the Fujifilm EF-X8’s flash at a correspondingly greater intensity. This system delivers accurate auto TTL flash performance – even in manual exposure mode – with no flooded power sync cables!

The NA-XT5 is also compatible with the Nauticam Mini Flash Trigger for Panasonic/Fujifilm (PN 26305). The Flash trigger allows for quick manual flash firing over optical cable without draining the camera battery.

The NA-XT5 is fiber optic available and accepts standard Sea & Sea style bushing connections. The Nauticam Universal Fiber Optic System (PN 26216) for Inon, Sea&Sea wardrobes, provides exceptional light transmission for precise TTL performance.

External Battery Pack

The NA-XT5 case supports the use of a USB-C battery pack to significantly extend the time between battery swaps and allow the case to remain sealed between dives. The battery compartment at the bottom of the case supports batteries up to 150mm(W) x 18mm (C) x 72mm (S). This is a known compatible battery, and there will be more:

Built-in leak detection and vacuum test system

The Nauticam vacuum test and leak detection system is pre-installed in the NA-XT5 as standard equipment. In combination with the optional M14 II Vacuum Valve (PN 25624), this monitoring system provides continuous updates throughout the dive on the watertight integrity of the housing through the multicolored LEDs on the rear. bark.
