A giant ball of fur was dropped on the Central Missouri Humane Society by an anonymous individual. At first glance, it’s almost impossible to determine what’s underneath the messy hair. The person who abandoned the pet said it was found in a small dog bed at a local supermarket. Shelter staff immediately sprang into action to help this tiny baby, determined to discover the identity of the creature hidden beneath all that fuzzy fur.

“It turns out this furball was a dog in distress,” the Humane Society of Central Missouri said on Facebook. “She couldn’t walk, had a lot of fleas, and her badly discolored fur showed that she was in pain. “Thanks to the folks at Pawsitively Precious, she was sedated and two workers spent three hours removing the matted hair from her body. Despite brushing and bathing, the little dog just wouldn’t leave.

“After taking an X-ray, it was discovered that she had been in this condition for so long that her foot was deformed and she had several broken bones,” Pawsitively Precious posted On Facebook.
They never gave up on this little dog and decided to name it Precious.

Although she cannot walk or run like a normal dog, Valuable in a positive way speak she “Has lots of love to give and would make a wonderful pet for a special home in the future!“
