Myles Garrett is making some sense of defense against the Browns’ defence.
The Browns were crushed by Bill Belichick and the Patriots on Sunday, 45-17. This is the latest pass in a bland season for Cleveland, which has fallen short of expectations so far. After starting 3-1, they went 2-4 in their last six games as defensive efforts were flipped between pretty good and very, very bad.
Garrett, however, is cutting through the noise and handing out a bag off the pitch – to his coaching staff.

“We didn’t adjust,” Garrett said after the loss. “As in the game, they keep scoring. And we have no objection to that. We need to be better.”
He continued:
“So let’s go back to the drawing board and see how we can get better, see how we can plan better, see how we can adjust quickly. We never had chance, just because we didn’t make any adjustments on the sidelines or when we had the time.”
The comments, seemingly aimed at Browns and DC defensive coach Joe Woods, were the most notable ones after the loss.
Those weren’t exactly the most heated comments from Garrett, but he did seem to have gotten some support from head coach Kevin Stefanski, who said the team was “outperformed” and “surpassed” ” several times during his post-match press conference. It was typical coach speeches, but it was a recurring theme after the game.
The Browns, currently sitting at 5-5, finished last in the AFC North with seven games remaining. Defensively, the team has taken a step back this year, scoring just over 24.1 points per game, ranking 19th in the standings.
The Browns still have time to turn things around, and comments from the star defense end can act as a spark – or pull out the newest Jenga shard in the tower.
