Mother horse and foal adopted after loss brought them together

Originating from the Netherlands, the Friesian horse is beautiful with a glossy black coat, muscular muscles and a flowing mane. And the Friesian Queen Uniek mares provide an impeccable standard of the breed. So when it came time for the Queen to give birth to her first pony, owner Yvonne was delighted.

But as Queen Uniek’s labor progressed, she puffed her lips and fell to the ground, the pain almost beyond her endurance. There is something wrong. When the vet examined Queen Uniek, he could feel the head but no legs, and the right leg appeared before a foal was born. Yvonne and her team worked hard to keep the stressed mother as calm as possible. But despite all their efforts, the foal was stillborn. Uniek and Yvonne were crushed.

But poor Uniek was abandoned because of the loss of her son and “still tries to wake up Star”. And when he was gone, she was still looking for him. However, the next day will bring some light to Uniek.

Yvonne received a call from her friend Eef, who had heard about a foal that was orphaned after the death of its mother. This baby needs a mother, and perhaps Queen Uniek could be the one for him.

“Of course, we wanted to try that,” Yvonne said.

And when Uniek saw the pony for the first time, she began calling it immediately, her heart overflowing with love for her newborn son. Nice to meet him, she couldn’t help but jump. Under the supervision of the group, the baby began to breastfeed and everyone knew the relationship was successful because Uniek didn’t reject it!

After the death robbed these ponies’ families, Queen Uniek and her adopted son Rising Star found joy in their tragedies.
