Dog sitter and Husky owner here. Ignore people saying don’t bathe your Husky because it ‘drys out the coat’ or because ‘they’re cleaning themselves’, these comments are completely meaningless. Given that you are using quality dog shampoo and conditioner and not human shampoo or dish soap, that will only help your husky. If he/she is itchy, I recommend using Douxo S3 Calm Shampoo and the mousse in the middle of the groom. It has natural ingredients that instantly soothe and help maintain healthy skin. It is important to thoroughly rinse, rinse AND dry your husky. Drying will also help get rid of any odors. It may be worth contacting a local groomer for help

My vet recommends fish oil for itchy skin. I took the capsule and put it in their food. The amount depends on the weight of the dog. I wouldn’t shower too often as it dries out my skin.

Wow so many ideas. I have tried many ways with my husky and to no avail it turns out that it has hereditary zinc malabsorption which my vet diagnosed that he did a skin biopsy after treatment it was under control

I used the horse main and tail pre-mixed in a quart container… food allergies often cause skin problems due to fillers. In the past, a good quality branded lamb formula has worked great for my dogs.

Don’t bathe your husky too often unless they’ve rolled on something. Their coat isn’t like other dogs and doesn’t have a lot of natural oils because they don’t need it! For dry skin, feed them oily fish like sardines or salmon. I regularly feed my daughter canned salmon and sardines. She also likes coconut oil and olive oil

Huskies are self-cleaning. Bathing is 1-2 times a year at most. Offers some form of fish oil supplement. We’ve been giving us these forever and they have the softest coats and never itch.

my oatmeal, ketchlor by virbac pittie has sensitive skin, use it has chlorhextine and antifungal ingredients to help treat sensitive allergies, you can buy that at amazon or chewable, it doesn’t need a prescription made by virbac. Product is very good. the clinics offer some virbac products, they also make a lot of vaccines.,

I would recommend changing the food and adding more fatty meats and olive oil to moisten the skin and wash with whatever shampoo you have but be sure to dry and brush well as they are also changing coats by now. coat and if the skin won’t be able to breathe, it starts creating yeast and hot spots. So if bathing is not an option then at least brush the entire coat to open it up and swap out for fatty and omega meats and low-carb processed crumbs.
