If you have a technical background and are looking for opportunities, here are 7 skills that will likely be in demand by freelancers this year. according to the freelancer platform Upworkalong with descriptions of what each requires and how much the freelancers on the site are charging.
Full stack development
Full stack developer trained in building both the front and back of the site. The user interface is what the user sees and interacts with, and the user interface powers the website. They know programming languages like JavaScript and Python, and test websites and software to make sure both are working smoothly.

A mobile app developer is a software engineer who specializes in creating apps for smartphones, tablets, and computers. They know the coding language, fix any bugs that arise in the software, and work with graphic designers and data scientists to build their apps.

“We use technology every day,” said Margaret Lilani, vice president of talent solutions at Upwork. “We use it to work, we use it to learn, we use it to communicate, we use it to trade.” That’s especially true over the past three years, as people increasingly rely on their devices to stay connected.
“That genie isn’t coming back in the bottle,” she said, adding that, “in terms of their business and their digital presence, they have to have that.”
