Mom and her 10 puppies were found living underneath a house
When the team is in The Lost Rescue of Saint Louis received a call about a lost person on the street, they know exactly how to answer.
But this case is a bit more complicated than usual:
“We tracked down a skinny, breastfeeding man who got lost, surviving on the dingy streets. But we couldn’t rescue the mother until we found her puppies,” the team explained on YouTube.
Luckily, the stray – who was named Hulu after she was rescued – didn’t take long to return to her cave after searching for food. She leads the group back to a house, then ducks beneath its floorboards to a crawl space where she’s sheltering her ten puppies.
Puppies are less than two weeks old, haven’t even opened their eyes yet! They were found, huddled together for warmth.
The team was able to lure Hulu out of the den with some food, making sure she was safe and out of their way when they started helping the pups.
A team member crawled in and was able to collect them into a small cardboard box.
The rescue that took place in 2018 was a great success! Unfortunately, the team hasn’t provided an update on the pups since then, although they did repost the video recently.
Hopefully now Hulu and her pups have found their permanent home – they definitely deserve much more warmth this winter! Watch the rescue video below:
