Three Milwaukee teenagers, all in their teens, are VIRAL all over social media, after they engaged in a Grand Theft Auto police-like chase on Facebook Live, MTO News already knows.
Three teenagers allegedly stole a car and then recklessly drove it after police began pursuing them.
The teenagers apparently drove erratically and dangerously through the city’s streets, and eventually stopped after crashing into half a dozen parked cars.
Here is their video:
MTO News reached out to the Milwaukee police department last month, after a report found the city had more auto thefts than neighboring Chicago.
They responded with this statement:
The increase in auto thefts remains a top priority for the Milwaukee Police Department. Last year, the MPD determined that thieves disproportionately targeted Hyundai and KIA vehicles that weren’t equipped with engine immobilizers. The MPD immediately issued a number of public announcements informing our community of this trend and providing information on precautions,” the statement read. MPD has provided thousands of free steering wheel locks to members of our community on several occasions. The steering wheel locks were obtained through the generosity and donations of several community partners, as well as KIA and Hyundai. As of November 30, 2021, Hyundai and KIA accounted for 67% of all cars stolen in the city of Milwaukee. The MPD continues to require members of the public to invest in precautions such as steering wheel locks, tripping switches or steel steering column collars to add an extra layer of protection.
MPD now has a free steering wheel lock available to KIA and Hyundai owners of individuals who live, work and attend school in the city of Milwaukee. They can be picked up at any of the seven Milwaukee Police Department Stations. Individuals may be asked to provide proof of ownership. Steering wheel locks will be available later this year,
