Michael Conlan returns to waterfall park in August

Another night of fighting at Falls Park, Belfast awaits Michael Conlan on August 6.

Since 2019, the spectacular venue has hosted match night three times for the 30-year-old.

A crowd expected 12,000 for Conlan’s return after his dramatic battle against Leigh Wood in March. Having dominated much of the match, the Northern Irishman did not succumb to the might of the WBA featherweight champion who won by knockout round 12 in match of the year competitor.

Talk to BelfastMedia.com The boxer’s brother Jamie said: “Michael is trying to right the wrongs of that fight and put him to sleep, but in the meantime we are planning the best path to return to world title back if we can’t get one right away.

“He’s going to put up a good fight against a reliable opponent, someone who’s been there and done that is what we’re trying to do.”

The final spectacular Féile at Falls Park saw Conlan outplay TJ Doheny by nine months, and in 2019, Diego Ruiz was stopped by the Olympic medalist in the ninth round.

Conlan will have to wait his time to receive another blow to Wood at Nottingham featherweight in the hopes of being able to fight against Leo Santa Cruz.
