Mercedes-Benz EQS 2025: Updated EV features classic S-Class design

Mercedes-Benz says it has responded to market and customer feedback with a series of EQS updates.

Mercedes-Benz says it has increased the towing capacity of all-wheel drive EQS models from 750kg to 1700kg.

Inside, MBUX Hyperscreen is now standard equipment. This device has three separate screens under a gently curved glass panel and is more than 141 cm wide.

The B-pillar air vents have new chrome frames, and additional padding at the rear has Nappa leather piping.

Models with the Rear Convenience Package Plus feature a new tilted footrest on the right side in the rear compartment, allowing passengers to stretch out more comfortably.

With this package, the front passenger seat can be folded forward and the backrest in the rear can be adjusted up to 38 degrees.

Even the standard rear seat configuration has had changes. The backrest can be adjusted from 27 to 36 degrees, the backrest has an additional 5mm thick foam layer.

Mercedes-Benz has upgraded the EQS’s level 2 autonomous driving technology and automatic lane changing is now supported on motorways with two separately structured lanes, provided the speed limit is no higher than 140km /H.

In 2023, Mercedes-Benz Australia sold 67 EQS liftbacks compared to 108 S-Class sedans.

By contrast, the smaller EQE achieved 437 sales, surpassing its combustion-powered counterpart. Electronic class partners (421 sales).
