Mercedes-AMG and American rapper will.i.am will soon be releasing a new bespoke car, following a series of teaser images uploaded to the automaker’s social media platforms. This will be a one-off model built specifically to raise money for engineering programs for inner-city schools.
From the images, it is clear that the car is based on the AMG GT, but with a completely redesigned front end. It seems to be inspired by the G-Class with its round LED headlights, boxy nose, rectangular grille and square chin.
At the rear, the LED taillights appear to be removed AMG GT Coupe 4 Doors, which features custom will.i.AMG and GT W1X badging on the rear doors. Unfortunately, nothing else can be created.
For now, it’s unclear whether the one-off model will receive any mechanical improvements, but expect the same world-famous 4.0-liter M178 twin-turbo engine to sit under the bonnet. The will.i.am special will be announced later tonight, so keep an eye on this space for updates!
