There are some people who solve problems behind closed doors. Then there are people in the boxing business. Take, for example, the famous and powerful Ryan Garcia and his promoter, the Golden Boy himself, Oscar De La Hoya, with whom he currently has a very public feud. The situation may have started earlier in the week, when De La Hoya announced that former boxer great Manny Pacquiao was the preferred opponent for Garcia’s next bout.

Garcia insulted that and announced it via social media. On Thursday, however, things took a turn for the worse. De La Hoya said he’s tired of Garcia bringing up the fact that he didn’t show up for his post-match press conference after Garcia was knocked out by Gervonta Davis in a super friendly in April.

“Wtf @RyanGarcia ,” De La Hoya tweeted, “it’s been almost two months and you’re still crying about the cameraman? You and your Lupe “advisor” are responsible for your loss. He’s the only one pushing you to accept that CRAZY rehydration clause and THAT’S why you lost. Try your best. Own that.”

Suffice it to say, Garcia wasn’t in the mood to let things slide. “Okay man,” he tweeted on Friday, “you have it all figured out. “Tired of you disrespecting my entire career and you don’t matter to that. Loyalty and common sense are lost in your head. Stop treating people that way and think they’ll accept it. ”

But De La Hoya himself wasn’t done yet. “Also,” he continued, “you keep saying that ‘the tank team gives you more support’ blah blah blah. Dude, they CAUSE YOU TO LOSE with that rehydration clause and most importantly… AL HAYMON DON’T EVEN EVEN APPEARANCE ALL WEEK. In fact, he NEVER showed up. How that for ‘support’???

Garcia pointed to a photo of De La Hoya with Rolly Romero. “You know I’m about to fight the thug,” he tweeted, “and act like your best friend. You don’t care about your fighter. Really tired of fake actions! STOP CAP AND BE REAL ONE MAN. I can respect you more if you just tell the truth, you join for the money. No love is lost.

“It’s called advertising,” De La Hoya retorted. “Who do you think sparked the fight week press conference when it was like being at a funeral. My job is to promote your job is to fight. No love is lost.

Of course, this is boxing, two men can mend anything.
