The Washington Post forgot to mention the glacial process in the late 1900s that covered World War 1 structures with ice in the first place (see above).

Nestled in an icy mountain is a meticulously preserved World War I bunker.

The barracks and cave are intact, containing ammunition, books, cigarette cases, and animal bones, and it was once filled with Austro-Hungarian troops. They staked their stake on Mount Scorluzzo, nearly 3,000 meters (about 9,800 feet) above sea level, on the Italian-Swiss border, now part of Italy’s Stelvio National Park territory.

Giovanni Cadioli, a historian and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Padua in Italy, told The Washington Post: “These places were literally frozen.

Now, he added, climate change is playing a “key role” in their discovery, as warming temperatures have led to the melting of glaciers and permafrost, revealing a “time capsule”.

It is a bit difficult to explain that this finding is evidence of dangerous human-caused climate change, when glaciers were receding very quickly in the early 1900s, before man-made CO2. cause can have a significant impact.

To be fair, glaciers don’t just respond to temperature, changes in land use and snowfall patterns can also have an impact. But the behavior of the glaciers isn’t exactly an alarming hockey stick.
