MD bot supports data collection, enhances the doctor’s experience in Indonesia

Singaporean AI medical technology startup Bot MD has partnered with major Indonesian institutions to use AI assistant technology in boosting the patient and physician experience.

WHAT IT’S ABOUT

The startup has signed a memorandum of understanding with Siloam Hospital Group to automate and scale patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) across its hospital chain by Power Siloam’s WhatsApp with Bot MD Care’s AI chat bot.

During visits, the chatbot will automatically notify the patient via WhatsApp to collect their basic medical condition. It automatically reminds them and collects their PROMs before and after surgery, then scores their results. The AI platform can also provide automated patient education and reminders.

The MD Care bot is currently available to patients being treated for heart failure or ischemic heart disease at Siloam Lippo Village Hospital in Tangerang. There are also plans to gradually roll out the AI service across other hospitals in the future. Siloam hospitals will also expand the service to cover other clinical areas and integrate the service into their EMR systems to make it easier for clinicians to review patient progress.

Meanwhile, Bot MD also partnered with the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) to embed its AI assistant on the association’s website. This integration allows the organization’s 200,000+ physician members to instantly search association information, IDI services, and national guidelines.

Through the IDI Bot, doctors can easily find information about new members, register for an electronic membership card, report problems with membership activation, renew certificates of competence and send feedback to IDI. Available in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, the IDI Bot has been trained on frequently asked questions from IDI members.

WHY IT IMPORTANT

As one of the largest private hospital groups in Indonesia with 41 hospitals and 66 clinics, Siloam treats and cares for more than 5 million patients every year. Adopting an AI chatbot will help scale its data collection across multiple clinical conditions, as well as benchmark and measure patient outcomes in its hospitals, which will ultimately inform inform clinicians in improving their quality of care.

Meanwhile, Bot MD is supporting IDI’s digital transformation journey to improve the quality and availability of services. The association is keen to expand its partnership with the startup in the future by powering WhatsApp and its other chat platforms with AI to improve service accessibility for members. .

Following the positive results from this partnership, Bot MD now plans to introduce this service to other medical associations across Southeast Asia.

TREND TO BIGGER

Two years ago, Bot MD raised funds $5 million in a funding round for its regional expansion efforts. The company has targeted Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and India.

During the pandemic, its AI assistant has been deployed across public hospitals in Singapore to assist Monitor and collect vital signs from a distance.
