You can’t make this up! McDonald’s is famous for their delicious golden and ice cream fries. However, most of the time, their machines are down. While this problem appears to be ongoing, customers are not the only ones annoyed with international fast food chains. According to The Hill, a Delaware-based company is responsible for ice cream machine repair equipment filed a lawsuit against the company on Tuesday. Kytch is suing for $900 million in a new lawsuit.
Kytch handled the paperwork for the lawsuit in Delaware federal court because McDonald’s allegedly made offense comments through false advertising. The 133-page court filing breaks down Kytch’s claims. It says, “Kytch took this action to set a record, to vindicate the company’s civil rights, to limit McDonald’s anticompetitive behavior, to recover compensatory and punitive damages. ” It continued, “To protect the consumer public from false and misleading advertisements, and ultimately to repair McDonald’s broken soft serve machines.”
Kytch founders, Jeremy O’Sullivan and Melissa Nelson, tried to tackle McDonald’s ice cream machines. However, the company claims the maker of the ice cream machine, Taylor, has exclusive rights to repair the snack-serving machines. This, they argue, led to a “profitable scheme” between the two companies. In addition, Kytch also claimed Taylor allowed her own devices to malfunction for profit. McDonald’s has denied the charges and prepared to defend itself in court. A restaurant spokesperson said, “McDonald’s owes it to our customers, crew, and franchisees to uphold our strict safety standards and work with vetted suppliers. fully in that pursuit.” They added, “The Kytch complaints are futile and we will respond to the complaint accordingly.”
