The CW’s The Flash ends with season 9
2023 will see the passing of a superhero.
On August 1, The CW announced that The Flash will end with the upcoming ninth season. The sequel, which will be shortened to 13 episodes, is slated to air next year.
“Nine seasons! Nine years of saving Central City while taking audiences on an emotional journey of heart, humor, and spectacle,” executive producer Eric Wallace said in a statement to TVLine. “And now Barry Allen has arrived at the starting gate for his final race.”
Wallace went on to thank the show’s cast and crew for what they did.”The Flash what an unforgettable experience for audiences around the world. “
The series, the star Grant Gustin as the popular hero, is the latest DC comic show to get the ax at The CW. In April, Batwoman showrunner Caroline Dries confirmed that the series will not continue with a fourth season.
“What an honor to do 51 episodes,” she wrote at the time. “So many amazing, inspiring people have contributed to this series. Thank you to the producer, cast and crew. Thank you fans! We love you.”
